Hen’s Wing Hand Broom Workshop

The call to tend the hearth is old. When you sweep with your broom; you sweep not only the floor of the home, but also the floor of the heart. Join Amanda Lazorchack of Please Send Word, here from Kansas City to offer an afternoon of broom making!
A unique way to engage in hand craft, domesticity & ritual; broom making is a delightful skill. You will talk about the role these practices play in your lives, hear about broom making history & you will bind a hen’s wing hand broom all your own! All skill levels welcome and moderate hand & body strength is needed. All tools & materials will be provided. There are parts of this class where you will be working with wet materials, please dress appropriately. If you have pruning shears & a pocket knife you are familiar with, please do bring them along.
This workshop is ideal for students 16 & up
Amanda Lazorchack is a craftsperson, forager, broom maker and community advocate based in Kansas City.
All class participants receive 15% off of any purchase made at Hillfolk on the day of the workshop.
For cancellations, or to switch a date, we require 72 hours notice before the start of your class in order to receive a refund or store credit. Please note that we cannot offer a refund OR store credit if you are within the 48 hour time frame.
