Hand Sewn Quilt Block Workshop
Saturday, March 12th
Join textile artist Olivia Clanton for a conversation about quilts and learn how to hand piece your very own quilt block! You will leave the class with foundational skills including how to piece a half square triangle, how to quilt and then bind the block to completion. From the AIDS Memorial Quilts to the Quilters of Gee’s Bend, quilts have endured history to tell the story of who we are and where we come from. Often enduring generations of love and use, they pass on important stories throughout history— all while keeping us warm and giving us something beautiful to look at. Join in on this long standing tradition and watch as your quilt block come to life!
Students are encouraged to bring a quilt or textile with them for a brief show & tell at the beginning of class.
All necessary materials are provided.
All class participants receive 15% off of any purchase made at Hillfolk on the day of the workshop.
